Profile

Celebrating the original SLR's victory in the 1955 'Mille Miglia' (or perhaps In response to the threat from Ferrari's new 599), Mercedes have announced the limited edition SLR McLaren 722. A marginal power increase and a 44kg weight drop sees the already superfast SLR rocket to 200kmh in just over 10 seconds on it's way to a new 210mph maximum. The biggest gains however are in the handling department. The 722 despatches a lap of the Nurburgring 10 seconds quicker than the 'standard' SLR, thanks to lowered suspension, bigger brakes and a modified front spoiler.

Just 150 will be made at 350,000 a time. Though considering the potency of it's Maranello rival, in all aspects except rarity, it simply doesn't represent good value for money.
