|
2007 saw the arrival of the 4th generation BMW M3, but this time with a twist. The E92 M3 becomes the first to swap the traditional straight 6 for the all new 414bhp 4 Litre V8. And that's not all that is new. BMW's M-Dynamic technology allows the driver to adjust steering and handling on the fly with the assistance of EDC (Electronic Damper Control).
Styling wise, the new M3 shows echoes of the CSL with it's black carbonfibre roof. Build quality is exceptionally high with a solid feel to interior trim and components. This quality does come at a cost though. The E92 is £10k more expensive than the E46.
We're used to seeing every new M3 wiping the floor with the opposition, but the game has moved on in recent years. The M3 will have it's work cut out with the likes of Audi's superb RS4 waiting in the wings.
