Following in the steps of previous hardcore CLKs the DTM and GTR, comes the more civilised CLK63 AMG Black. Second in the new Mercedes 'Black' series, the CLK is 30bhp up on the 'standard' AMG and part de-restricted to 186mph. This along with handling tweaks and a sequential gearbox have helped the CLK to an impressive 7:50 lap of the Nurburgring.
Cosmetically the CLK features extended wheel arches and aggressive spoilers, while inside the rear seats have been removed to leave just two racing buckets up front.
The Black series is expensive at £100,000, but good value when compared to the likes of the admittedly far quicker Brabus.
