Some say that the Evo X has gone soft, become a little too sanitised compared to those that came before it. Mitsubishi have replied to these criticisms with the 'not even a little bit soft' FQ-400. Power is on a par with the bonkers FQ-400 Evo VIII, but with a dollop more torque for even more gut wrenching in gear acceleration.
There may be some truth in the Evo X losing some character over previous generations, but when you compare it to what's happened to Subaru's Impreza, there can be little cause for complaint.
