Profile |

The next generation R500 takes the lessons learnt from the short run R500 Evo to produce one of the best trackday tools available today. Chapman's original brief for the Seven of performance through light weight is the reasoning behind the R500's other worldly acceleration. It may have only 250bhp but it only weighs 500Kg, that is why 60mph is despatched from rest in a mind bending 2.9 seconds. With a nod to modern technology, there is also a sequential box and launch control on offer as options.
As with all cars of this ilk, the practicality of everyday road use is almost none existent. But the R500 is still right up there as the sensible money track day tool of choice.
