2009 saw the addition of a Gallardo derived V10 to the Audi R8 line up. The new 5.2 litre powerplant was good for 525bhp and almost 400 lbft of torque. Delivered through Audi's ubiquitous 4 wheel drive system, the V10 sprinted to 60mph in under 4 seconds, with 100mph arriving just 4.5 seconds later. Bodywork became more aggressive with the addition of scoops and spoilers, but mainly distinguished by being the first series car to sport LED running lamps.
The R8 received a 2012 restyle prior to an entirely new second generation R8 arriving in 2015.
