Profile

Any successor to the phenomenal F1 would have to be pretty special. Fortunately, McLaren have risen to the challenge and produced the stunning new MP4-12C.

McLarenís obsession in saving weight is evident in the MP4-12C. Designed and produced entirely in house, the Aluminium bodywork, Magnesium beams and carbon monocell chassis (weighing only 80Kg) keep the carís weight down to an impressive 1300Kg. This goes some way to explaining the MP4ís phenomenal stopping power (100kmh to zero in under 30 metres). A seven speed dual clutch gearshift and F1 inspired brake steer assist balance and grip through corners, while the 592bhp V8 provides awesome acceleration. The MP4-12C even has green credentials, McLaren claiming the highest power per emissions rating there is.

Production will aim for 1300 units per annum in both coupe and roadster formats.
