Profile |

The latest in a trio of hybrid hypercars, the Ferrari's LaFerrari vies for dominance with Mclaren's P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder.
A `conventional` 790bhp V12 is coupled with a 160bhp electric motor to produce a combined power output of 950bhp, available at all times thanks to initiatives such as the KERS regenerative braking system from Formula 1. Acceleration is simply crushing. 0-300kmh (the new benchmark for hypercars) takes just 15 seconds, a match for the very fastest from Bugatti and Koenigsegg. A sub 7 minute lap of the ring is surely a formality, once the temporary testing ban is lifted.
The LaFerrari's unparalleled desirability is further enhanced by the fact that you don't have to be a race driver to get the most from it. Welcome news for the 499 owners after parting with over £1.2m for their latest toy.
A convertible 'Spider' version was announced for limited production in 2016/17. Potential owners will be 'invited' to purchase by Ferrari !
