Porsche's legendary innovation is in full flow with the amazing 918 Spyder. A genuine hybrid (unlike the LaFerrari and P1) the 918 is economic (67 mpg), has low emissions (72 g/km Co2) and can be realistically drive in full electric mode.
That may make you feel that the P1 and LaFerrari have the edge in performance - think again! The 918 has rewritten the record books in terms of acceleration. 0-60mph in 2.2 sec, a standing quarter in 9.8 sec and to top it all, a 6 min 57 sec lap of the Nurburgring. The Porsche's 4 wheel drive helps here, and a small matter of 887bhp and 940lbft doesn't hurt either.
Fittingly, 918 units of this £700k hypercar were produced over a 2 year production run ending 2015.
