In just 20 years, Koenigsegg have grown from a small Swedish startup to producing what must be the fastest road legal car on the planet, the One:1.
Hailed by founder Christian Von Koenigsegg as the world's first `Megacar` the One:1 produces a colossal 1341bhp (or 1 Megawatt) from it's twin turbo V8. In a car weighing just 1340Kg, the One:1 breaks the seemingly unreachable barrier of 1000bhp/ton. No wonder then that the Swedish hypercar is breaking records for fun. A recent 0-300kmh sprint was completed in just 11.9 sec, on it's way to an official 0-300kmh-0 world record of 17.9 seconds. Top speed is quoted at around 273mph, which if anything seems on the conservative side!
It seems we have not yet reached the end of the ever escalating power wars, with SSC's Tuatara quoting 1350bhp and Bugatti Chiron touching 1500bhp. The seven lucky Koenigsegg One:1 owners can be satisfied in the knowledge that they probably have the fastest supercar in the world.
