The Speciale seems to have achieved the impossible by improving on the already amazing 458 Italia.
Ferrari have lopped off 100Kg and added an extra 35bhp over the Italia, which slices nearly a second off the 0-200kmh time - now a mere 9.1 seconds. Redesigned splitters and spoliers further improve handling, knocking 1.5 seconds off the Italia's Fiorano lap time.
This could well be the last of the hairy chested normally aspirated V8s, as ever tightening regulations have forced the 458's successor, the 488GTB, to turn to turbo charging for it's power. It will be interesting to see if the thrills remain.
