Profile |

Succeeding the highly acclaimed 458 was always going to be a difficult task, but restrained by ever tightening regulation, Ferrari have been forced to abandon normally aspirated engines in favour of turbocharging for their latest supercar the 488GTB.
The instant response of the 458 Speciale may be gone but the 488GTB has been expertly engineered to all but eliminate turbo lag. Power is substantially increased to 666bhp, making for a staggering 8 second sprint to 200kmh from rest, on it's way to a 206mph maximum. The styling has not changed much from the 458, but the car is apparently 80% new.
This is without doubt the way forward for this class of supercar, nut it remains to be seen if the 488GTB has the razor sharp appeal of it's illustrious predecessor.
2017 saw a limited run targa version known as the J50.
