Profile

Now in it's third generation, the Porsche 911 (991) GT3 RS has taken the track biased supercar to a whole new level. Huge performance increases over it's 997 predecessor come mainly from a 100bhp power increase. But Porsche have also gone to extreme measures to minimize the car's weight, such as a (lighter-than-carbon) magnesium roof.

Track work is what this Porsche is all about and the GT3 RS delivers. Monumental handling, grip and stability make you forget that you are driving a rear engined car. Almost 500bhp in a lightweight aerodynamic body make for extremely rapid progress, demonstrated by a superfast 7 min 20sec Nurburgring lap time.

Is it worth the £30k extra over the already brilliant GT3? All we can say is that if you want the ultimate 911 track day car, then yes. Makes you wonder why they make the GT3.
