The Aston Martin Rapide represents the companies first four door saloon in over 20 years, since the demise of the wedge like Lagonda in 1989.
The Rapide is powered by the smooth V12 from the DB9, slightly uprated to 470bhp. Performance is healthy, for a car of it's size, with 0-60mph in under 5 seconds and a near 190mph maximum. It is certainly a good looking car, akin to a stretched DB9, but perhaps a little longer than expected.
Despite favourable reviews and a not unreasonable £150k asking price, sales were far slower than expected, leading to Aston Martin heavily cutting back production. The Rapide was succeeded by the more powerful Rapide S in 2013.
