2014 saw the AMG GT replace the SLS AMG as Mercedes' flagship 2 seater sports coupe. The base version GT offers 468bhp while the `S` trumps that with 503bhp, both from AMG's new generation twin turbo V8. The later is good for 193mph and a mid 3 second sprint from 0-60mph. Both also come with Mercedes' fantastic new 7-speed dual clutch gearbox which, coupled with an electronic differential in the `S`, provides epic levels of grip and handling.
The AMG GT is actually smaller and cheaper than it's SLS predecessor and so represents excellent value for money at the £100k asking price. For the first time, Mercedes now has a true rival for the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 in this lucrative super sports coupe market.
