Introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the second generation R8 may look quite familiar but is in fact a huge step forward over the outgoing model. Available from launch in three distinct versions (std V10; 605bhp 'V10 Plus' and fully electric 'eTron'), the R8 Shares a platform with its VW Group stablemate the Lamborghini Huracan. A new 7-speed dual clutch transmission is fitted along with a revised 4WD system that gives astounding grip. Performance is equally amazing. 0-60mph disappears in just 3 seconds, (almost on a par with the Huracan), with a 205mph maximum speed.
The new R8 is certainly in the same ball park as it's illustrious rivals from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche, and at £126,000 for the 605bhp 'Plus', it is an absolute bargain compared to well over £200k for the 488 and Huracan.
