Following on from the earlier Nazca M12, BMW's restyled Nazca C2 was unveiled to the public at the 1991 Tokyo Auto Show.
Powered by an Alpina tuned 5-litre V12, the C2 produced around 350hp through it's 5-speed manual box, allowing an impressive 193mph max speed.
The futuristic looks were courtesy of famous styling house Italdesign. Standout features included a wraparound rear spoiler and stunning glass gull-wing doors.
A spider version followed in 1993, with removable targa panels and even more power (380hp) from an enlarged 5.6 litre V12, now transmitted through a 6-speed manual box.
Although conceived as a possible successor to the M1, BMW ultimately decided against production, leaving only the three original concepts as a lasting legacy to their Italdesign partnetship.
