The multi-award winning Modulo first stunned visitors at the 1970 Turin Motor Show.
Based on Ferrari's 512/612 Can-Am racecar, the Modulo was originally a non-runner, stripped of its engine and transmission by Ferrari.
The extraordinary wedge shape was styled by Pininfarina's Paulo Martin, and consists of an upper and lower clamshell with central trim line, trademark part-enclosed wheels and 'pepperpot' engine cover. Due to the low 93cm height, passenger access was through a sliding canoy.
After residing in museums for over 40 years, Pininfarina were persuaded to sell the Modulo to noted car collector Jim Glickenhaus in 2014. He has done them proud, by installing a period 550bhp V12, gearbox and ancillaries, allowing the Modulo to run under its own power for the first time - all the way up to a theoretical 220mph.
The astonishing results were displayed to the public at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concourse.
