The 458 based Sergio is the latest in a recent run of mega expensive Ferrari/Pininfarina limited editions - this one costing it's six owners upwards of £2.5m. The original 2012 concept was created to commemorate the passing of Sergio Pininfarina, the legendary head of the Italian styling house and long time Ferrari collaborators. Limited production of six road cars was then agreed, bearing the Ferrari name.
The Sergio is based on the 458 Spider but uses the 600bhp powerplant from the Speciale, resulting in a sub 3 second sprint to 60mph. Pininfarina's extensive body restyle has design cues from classic 60's Ferrari's (and saves 100Kg over a 458), while the interior receives a retrim and carbon dashboard.
A recent auction shows the value of rarity, with one of the six Sergios produced on offer for $6 million!
