The third generation (F12) M6 (if you count the original M635) arrived in 2012. BMW ditched the old V10 for a greener twin-turbo V8 (sharing technology with it's M5 stablemate), which dropped emissions to 231 g/km CO2 and increased fuel economy by almost 100%! A 7-speed dual clutch transmission with steering mounted paddles ensures you enjoy the massive 552bhp on offer. Top speed is the ubiquitous limited 155mph, but the optional M Drivers package gives an unrestricted 189mph. For even more oomph, the Competition Package kicks out 600bhp and drops the 0-60mph sprint under 4 seconds.
Externally, the M6 now features a carbon fibre roof, while inside a 10 inch LED panel with head-up display grabs your attention. The enormous options list includes all round cameras, a night vision system, mobile internet with streamed content and (expensive) carbon ceramic brakes.
Available as a convertible, coupe and grand coupe (4 door), the M6 is expensive at almost £100k, but with all it has to offer, it's a great car no less.
