Profile |
|
Ariel's extraordinary new Atom 3.5R comes within a whisker of outperforming their limited edition (and twice as expensive) 500 V8.
Over 350bhp is extracted from Honda's 2 litre in-line 4 engine, courtesy of a supercharger, so performance is naturally epic. 0-60mph in around 2 and a half seconds, 0-100mph in just six through the six speed sequential gearbox. A Nurburgring lap in the low 7s is a definite possibility. A variety of customisation options for wheels, aerodynamics and suspension are available that can optimise the Atom for road or track use.
£65000 is a fair chunk of money for a bare bones track day car. However, with the Atom, you are not only getting bonkers performance and handling, but also something that little bit different to the pack. A track day icon in the making.
