Bentley have joined the luxury SUV brigade with the sumptuous new Bentayga. One of the larger SUVs at nearly 2.5 tons, but that doesn't seem to stop it accelerating from 0-60mph in just 4 seconds on it's way to a 187mph max. A healthy 600bhp from the twin-turbo W12 may have something to do with that. So you would naturally assume that fuel consumption would be in single figures, but amazingly the Bentayga averages 22mpg and under 300 g/Km CO2.
An astonishing list of features are available. Air suspension, all round heated leather seats, adaptive LED headlights, power tailgate, touchscreen with voice control, Wi-Fi, power tailgate, dynamic ride and hill descent are all standard. A number of optional 'specification' packs are also available to further enhance the environment.
There are two ways of looking at the base £160000 asking price. It could be considered hugely expensive compared to rivals from Land Rover, Porsche and Maserati. Or you could say that it offers all the luxury and performance of Bentley saloon with the added practicality of an SUV. Take your pick.
