BMW's latest addition to the 'M Power' line-up has been pitched primarily as a driver's car. This is reflected in the standard 6-speed manual transmission and hardened suspension allowing near 1g cornering. A 7-speed DCT system is available as an option, which is actually faster and more economical than the manual and has the added advantage of a fully auto mode. The 365bhp turbo flat-6 gives acceleration from 0-60mph in 4 seconds flat, with a standing quarter arriving in just 12.5 seconds - remarkable performance for this class of car.
Interior trim has a quality, sporty feel, with carbon fibre panelling and embossed 'M' logos to the seats. The 'Executive Package' adds state of the art driver aids such as Active Driving Assistant (to help keep you within your lane), heated seats and Park Distance Control with rear-view camera.
This compact, high performance coupe can be yours for around £45k in the UK. However, if you require 4 doors in your M2, hang around for the 'Grand Coupe' - due sometime over the next few months.
