Chevrolet introduced the 6th generation Camaro ZL1 at the 2016 New York Auto Show, production to begin late 2016 as a 2017 model year.
The ZL1 may have an old school supercharged (and superfast) V8 from the Corvette Z06, but it is coupled with state of the art handling systems such as magnetic dampers and electronically controlled LSD, the type of which helped Chevrolet to some remarkable Nurburgring lap times. Available with the optional 10 speed (yes, 10 speed) auto transmission, you can even have GM's 'Performance Data Recorder' system, with inbuilt camera and GPS. Styling is certainly dramatic, if not a little too exaggerated in places. But there is no doubt about it's road presence and searing performance.
UK pricing has yet to be announced (as of July 2016), but expect a starting price somewhere around the £55k mark, pitching it close to natural rivals such as the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and Shelby GT Mustang.
