Profile |
|
At 300 kmh (186 mph), the Evora 400 is the fastest Lotus road car ever made. 400bhp is coaxed from the supercharged V6, blasting Norfolk's finest from 0-60mph in just 4.1 seconds. Handling is as always superb, but the driving experience is let down a little by the clunky gearchange.
Bodywork has undergone a mild restyle for a more aerodynamic, slippery shape but interior trim is still spartan compared to the likes of the Porsche Cayman. However, the Evora does have some modern creature comforts such as sat nav, reversing camera and even heated seats! Lotus has certainly come a long way since the bare bones days of the original Elise.
The 400 is without doubt a great driver's car, but its too expensive at £72000. That's not far off £10k more than the class leading Cayman GT4. You would have to be a die hard Lotus enthusiast to justify the difference.
