The tanker sized G63 AMG has been designed by Mercedes as a true off-roader, with the likes of Range Rover in it's sights. The 5.5 litre twin -turbo V8 provides astonishing acceleration for something so heavy. 0-60mph takes just 5 seconds, despite it's 2.5 tonne bulk. Thankfully, top speed is limited to 130mph. This is one car you would not want to be in a head on collision with - whic is more than likely thanks to the apalling steering!
There's no shying away from the fact that, despite the big wheels and flared arches, the G63 is an ugly beast. However, the interior is much as you would find on other Mercedes AMGs, with leather, climate control and a modern command system. It even has a tenuous claim to being a green(ish) SUV, with 21 mpg and 322 g/km CO2.
£123,000 is a lot of money for an SUV. But you will stand out from the crowd while you are blowing away a supercar or two from the lights. Rappers and professional footballers, get your cheque books ready.
