Built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, the Centenario hypercar made its public debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, joining the Reventon and Veneno in Lamborghini's growing stable of limited one-offs.
The base Aventador's normally aspirated V12 is enhanced to produce 759bhp. Despite this power and a significant drop in weight, performance is on a par with the Aventador SV, which is actually no bad thing. The extreme carbon fibre bodywork is both striking and functional, with a full (bright yellow) ground effect tray and a smattering of diffusers. Expect to shave a few tenths off the SV's already might impressive 6:59 Nurburgring lap time
A total of 40 Centenarios will be produced (20 coupes and 20 roadsters) at the extraordinary asking price of £1.75 million . Cynics may say that this is nothing more than a bejewelled Aventador SV, while others may relish the opportunity to own this rare collectable. The fact that all 40 were sold long before being revealed to the public may have answered that particular question.
