The extraordinary rise of Tesla continues with the 2016 introduction of the 7 seater Model X SUV.
In P100D trim, the Model X offers up an instant and insane 762 bhp and 713 lbft of torque. This results in a 'ludicrous' 0-60mph dash of just 2.9 seconds (faster than all but the most powerful supercars) despite weighing well over two tons.
As SUVs go, the Model X is a good looking vehicle, with a stand out feature being the unique rear falcon wing doors. On the inside, the optional third row of seats brings passenger capacity up to seven, who will be ensconced in a luxurious, leather lined cabin. Every piece of high tech equipment you can possibly imagine is available, including the humungous 17 inch infotainment display. An expensive options list also includes bizarre technology such as the 'Bioweapon Defence Mode'!
£117k is a lot to ask for a family car, but the Model X outperforms all of it's rivals in just about every area (including being the safest SUV on the road), and all without using a single drop of petrol.
