The classic Jenesen Interceptor first saw production with the Mark 1 in 1966, followed three years later by the extensively modified Mark II. For the 1971 Mark III SP, Jensen introduced Chrysler's mighty 7.2 litre V8 with 'six-pack' carburretors, producing an impressive (for the day) 385bhp. Both 3-speed automatic and 4-speed manual transmissions were available. The exterior featured a revised grille and bumpers, sitting alongside the Interceptor's trademark domed tailgate window. Air conditioning and alloy wheels were also now fitted as standard equipment.
Unfortunately the worldwide oil crisis of the mid 1970s hit Jensen hard, with the company folding in 1976, bringing to an end a ten year production span of the Interceptor. A short lived Mk IV Interceptor appeared in the late 1980s, featuring an updated interior and mere 5.9 litre Chrysler V8, before the company went bankrupt again in 1993.
Fast forward 40 years, and the Interceptor has become a sought after classic with prices for mint SPs approaching £100k.
