Profile |
|
The good looking RCF coupe is Lexus' latest attempt to crack the 2+2 sports coupe market, and sports the company's distinctive new full height grille.
The RCFs 5 litre V8 produces nearly 500bhp, but the peak torque of around 400 lbft arives at a heady 5000rpm, so high revs are the order of the day if you want any serious performance. Stopping power is impressive (for an 1800 kg car) thanks to slotted and vented 380mm Brembos, but unfortunately the handling of the RCF is not quite up to scratch. In contract, the interior is impressive, with quality materials and a logical control layout.
£60k is a reasonable asking price, but the good looks and sonerous V8 don't quite make up for the lack of handling and sporty feel.
The RCF Carbon edition is now available with carbonfibre bonnet and spoiler with an £8k premium over the standard RCF.
