American manufacturer Superlite's SL-C road racer is a stunning Le Mans style design along the lines of the British Ultima GTR. The car can be self built, but is also available as a 'turnkey minus' consutruction, just requiring the customer's selected drivetrain. The favoured engine is the small block Chevrolet LS7, with it's classic 427 cubic inches punching out over 500bhp and 470 lbft of torque. In this configuration, a typical 2400 lb street spec SL-C will hit 60mph in 3 seconds, the standing quarter in 10, then on to a 200mph+ max. The SL-C comes with standard integrated 'ducktail' spoiler or the optional carbon fibre rear wing.
Fully built cars range from around $60k - $100k (£50k to £80k), which considering the looks and performance on offer, is exceptional value for money. Road legal status shouldn't be a problem through the Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) scheme in the UK, and they even come in RHD!
