Profile |

Inspired by the Cooper Climax F1 car from the 1950s, the Climax Café Racer is a good looking British speedster with a protracted 10 year history!.
The original Ethanol powered concept was designed by students from Coventry University Automotive Design Centre back in 2006 and shown at the following year's Goodwood festival of Speed. Three years later a production ready version arrived, powered by a 4.6 litre Ford V8, but priced at almost Ł100k it failed to sell. Fast forward to 2015 and the re-emergence of the Climax at Coventry Motofest in the UK, with a forthcoming engine partnership with Subaru promising 500bhp+.
The Café Racer may yet see production, but in a far removed format to the original Eco-friendly design. Watch this space!
