Profile |
|
Classified by McLaren as one of their 'Sports Series' rather than the more upmarket 'Super Series', the 540C is by anyone's definition a true supercar.
Just 30bhp down on the 570S, the entry level McLaren posesses all the real world performance that most people will ever need. Just 10 seconds is needed to blast from 0-200 kmh, and a 199mph max is only lacking in bragging rights alone. The exterior looks and interior trim are all but identical to it's sports series siblings. Practicality is better than you'd imagine with plenty of storage space, but the slightly cramped cabin, poor turning circle and lively handling may preclude it from being a daily driver.
To think that the 540C is McLaren's entry level car, and what this remarkable supercar has to offer at the £126k asking price, shows just how far they have come in a few short years.
