2016 sees the introduction of Mercedes' entry level super saloon/copue/convertible in the form of the AMG C63.
Power is provided by the 4-litre twin-turbo V8 from the AMG GT, with 469bhp in base trim and 503bhp in the S, ensuring a 0-60mph well under 4 seconds. Capacity may have dropped, but the rumble of a V8 remains. Mercedes have put in a lot of effort to ensure the C63 remains a hardcore offering. Agressive looks, firm suspension, big brakes (with ceramic option) and a booming exhaust note are all present in the new W205 model. The interior retains the sporty feel and is trimmed to the highest order. Every technical gadget you can think of is included, with a dashboard dominated by the new 8.5 inch Command display.
The C63 is available from around £60k in the UK. This puts it above the likes of the BMW M3 and Audi RS4 but you do get a lot of kit for the money ... and then there's that V8!
