Lamborghini's hardcore Huracan Performante was revealed to the public at the 2017 Geveva Motor Show, following it's historic record breaking 6:52 lap of the Nurburgring a few weeks earlier (although this has since been bettered by the McLaren P1 LM).
The Performante's astonishing lap time (a 36 second improvement over the standard Huracan) has been put down to lighter weight (down 90 lbs), increased power (up 30 bhp) and most importantly a revolutionary new ALA active aerodynamics system that facilitates incredible cornering speeds. New 'Forged Composites' spoilers and a large rear wing allow downforce to be adjusted on the fly for ultimate handling. Standard carbon ceramic brakes ensure it stops as quickly as it goes.
The Performante will no doubt be close to the top in a golden age of highly desirable supercars, alongside the likes of McLaren's 720S, Ferrari's forthcoming 488 'Speciale' and the Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS. It will be interesting to see which model proves to be the fastest.
