Another new entrant into the electric hypercar segment arrived at Geneva 2017 in the form of the Artega Scalo Superelletra (superlight / electric).
German specialists Artega have commissioned Touring to design the lines of the Superelletra. The Italian styling house have a history of producing eye catching designs (such as the recent Disco Volante) and have not disappointed with the simple yet attractive shape of the Scalo. Seating is in a McLaren F1 style, with a central driver plus two passengers set back either side.
Four electric motors provide over 1000 bhp and an instant 1195 lbft of torque, resulting in mind blowing performance (cf. 0-60mph in around 2.5 seconds). Top speed is limited to a more modest 300 kmh. A theoretical range of over 300 miles is on offer, with a superfast battery charge time of just 17 minutes (for 80% capacity).
Artega intend to produce just 50 units, for delivery around 2019. No word yet on pricing, but expect somewhere in the region of £1 million.
No production model has appeared, so SupercarWorld have re-classified the Scalo as a concept.
