Mercedes' fifth generation W213 E63 boasts a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 with 563bhp as standard (or a whopping 603bhp in the 'S' version), channeled through a new 9-speed automatic transmission to all four driven wheels. There are selectable drive modes including sport, race and even drift.

It's no lightweight at almost 2000 kg, but handling and performance are sensational, with 0-60mph in well under 3.5 seconds and the cornering capability of a car with half it's weight. A 300 kmh top speed is also yours with the optional AMG drivers package.

Interior trim is to a very high standard, with exceptionally comfortable nappa leather seating. There is also a superb large screen infotainment system situated at the heart of the dashboard.

At just under £90k for the 'S' specification model, the E63 is not cheap but represents exceptional value considering the quality and performance on offer.
