Originally intended for just the Middle East market, the super-luxury Lagonda Taraf saloon is now available to worldwide markets, reviving the classic Lagonda name last seen in the late 1980s.
Although based on Aston's previous luxury flagship the Rapide, even sharing the 6.0 L V12, the Taraf is both longer, more powerful and far more luxurious. Styling is far removed from the original 'wedge shaped' Lagonda, with the new model sporting a DB11 style front end, offsetting it's substantial 212 inch length. There can be no complaints about performance, with 540bhp offering a near 200mph top speed and 4 second dash to 60mph.
Production was expected to be limited to 200 cars (perhaps 120 were actually built) probably a sensible decision considering the Lagonda's ataggering £700k price tag. However it's rarity in this market place should ensure that the entire run will be snapped up by (extremely) wealthy collectors.
