Launched at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the third generation (B8) Audi RS4 came as an Avant (estate) version only. The 444bhp 4.2 litre V8 is lifted from the RS5, complete with screaming 8500rpm redline, all transmitted through Audi's 7-speed dual clutch S-Tronic gearbox, with launch control. A heavy foot will release 0-60mph in 4 seconds, a light one will deliver over 30mpg.
Audi's renowned 4WD Quattro system is at it's best in the RS4, allowing stable handling in the wet at the most ridiculous of speeds. Dynamic Ride Control and Dynamic Steering options will further enhance the experience, although the value of the expensive optional carbon brakes is up for debate.
