Profile |
|
Originally developed by Porsche Motorsports for the track, the extremely rare (4 were built) 968 Turbo RS found it's way onto the road, boasting no less than 337bhp from it's 3-litre 4-cylinder engine.
The heavily revised bodywork (with input from Techart) features flared arches, a deep front spoiler and adjustable rear wing. Inside there was a full roll cage, 6-point harnesses and a track ready fire extinguishing system. Wheels and brakes came from the contemporary 911 Turbo S, quite necessary when braking from the top speed of 175mph.
Historically significant as the rarest of all the Porsche RS cars, this 968 is a tempting addition to any Porsche collectors garage. The one and only road legal version (boasting 480bhp) was offered for sale in the UK in 2017.
