Gardner Douglas have been creating hand built 1960s inspired sports cars since 1990, factorry built or in kit form for customer assembly. The GD T70 is their take on the gorgeous Lola T70 Can Am car from the late 60s, bought up to date with modern levels of safety, performance and reliability.
The T70 is available in either Spyder (convertible) or Moda (with T-bar roof), each with a choice of powerful GM Gen 4 engines, right the way up to the 560bhp 7-litre V8, driven through a Porsche 911 gearbox, good for around 180mph.
The GRP composite body is wrapped round a tubular space frame chassis with integrated roll cage, accessed via eye catching gull-wing doors. The whole package weighs in at well under 2000 lbs, producing an astonishing 647 bhp/ton power to weight ratio.
Prices are on application, but expect a good spec, factory built T70 to cost you around the £60k mark. Not bad considering the race car looks and the V8 soundtrack on offer.
