The awesome new Venom F5 is aiming to be the world's fastest production car and 'officially' break the 310mph barrier.
The F5 is the first fully in-house supercar produced by Hennessey and is named after the highest tornado speed rating. The 6.6 litre twin-turbo 'Fury' V8 kicks out a massive 1817hp at a screaming 8000rpm. Hennessey claim a 310 mph+ max and 0-300 kmh in under 9 seconds could be achieved. The power is certainly there, and the claimed weight of under 3000 lbs will help, but whether the tyres are up to the job remains to be seen.
The dramatic carbon fibre bodywork features active aero for handling, while a reasonably low 0.39 drag coefficient will be vital for top speed runs.
The 24 car production run should begins 2022, retailing at around £1.6m in the UK, although they are now all sold out. Customers can choose from LHD or RHD layouts.
Note: Until the top speed claim is validated, SupercarWorld will record the max as 275mph.
