Debuting at the 2018 Detroit motor show, the Mk 6 Mustang Bullitt is marketed by Ford as a homage to the legendary original from 1967.
Power from the standard Mustang GT's 5 litre V8 is up from 435bhp to 475bhp (in US spec), transmitted through a 6-speed manual box (auto is not an option on the Bullitt). Top speed now jumps to around 168mph, and 0-60mph should match the standard 2018 Mustang's 3.9 sec with an auto box.
The Bullitt comes finished in the same Dark Highland Green as the 'Steve McQueen' original but Black is also available. The Recaro seats have matching green stitching and the iconic pool ball gearknob. Despie the classic styling cues, the car is fully up to date with the lastest tech systems such as sat nav and lane departure alert.
Thankfully, the $47k Bullitt will also be available in the UK from late 2018, but unfortunately at a much steeper price and with 'only' 458bhp.
