Jaguar has introduced Europe's first mainstream electric SUV in the form of the Jaguar I-Pace.
Two electric motors produce around 400 hp to propel the British SUV from 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds. Not bad for a 2100 Kg SUV.
Jaguar claim a range of just under 300 miles (on the WLTP scale) from the 90 KwH Litium-Ion battery, with 80% charging in as little as 45 minutes. For real world accuracy, AI systems calculate your remaining mileage based on several factors such as climate and driving style.
The compact dimensions and long wheelbase of the I-Pace belie the large interior space on offer. There is also an impressive 656 litre boot capacity.
Prices range from around £63k - £75k dependent on trim S, SE or the top of the range HSE). A significant saving over the broadly similar, but higher specced, Tesla Model X. We await the response from Mercedes, BMW and Audi!
