Oh no, not another new McLaren! Nevertheless, the ballistic 600LT is the fastest car yet in McLaren's 'entry level' Sports Series.
The 600hp twin-turbo V8 all but matches the 675LT on straight line acceleration, and thanks to advances in aero and tyre technology (Pirelli Trofeo R), surpasses it in the handling stakes. Kerb weight is under 1250kg (with the optional 'Senna' seats) shedding 100kg from the 570S. The resulting 480bhp/ton power to weight being a significant factor in the amazing 8.2 sec 0-200kmh time.
The exterior is dominated by the signature raised exhaust exiting from the rear deck, Porsche 918 style, complete with on-demand flames! Brutal carbon ceramic stopping power is courtesy of the 720S.
From £185k in the UK, the limited edition 600LT undercuts it's rivals from Porsche, Lamborghini & Ferrari, while also ouperforming them in many respects. It will be interesting to see if 'desirability' is one of them!
