2017 sees the introduction of the most powerful road going Lotus ever produced, the Evora GT430.
Two versions are available, the GT430 and GT430 Sport. The latter does without the hardcore aerodynamic elements, slightly increasing lap times, but reaching a higher top speed of 196mph, making it the fastest road car that Lotus have ever produced. Both are powered by a 3.5 litre supercharged V6 kicking out a healthy 430bhp. A 6-speed manual transmission comes as standard, but you can also specify an auto, which sems strange in a car of this ilk.
Track credentials are evident in the huge rear wing, accompanied by adjustable Ohlins dampers, adjustable traction control, Torsen LSD and all round AP racing brakes.
Only 60 will be built with a retail price of £113k. This is a lot of money for a Lotus, but you are buying into one of the fastest track day cars there is and over 50 years of Lotus heritage.
