The second generation (971) Porsche Panamera launched in 2017, available as a saloon or estate, with normally aspirated, turbo charged and even hybrid electric power trains.
This twin-turbo V8 Panamera is more powerful (550hp), spacious (520 litre boot) and economical (30mpg) than its predecessor. Top speed remains at 188mph, but 0-60mph is now despatched in just 3.5 seconds, astounding for a car of this size and weight (over 2 tons).
The excellent handling belies the vehicles dimensions, and is further enhanced by speccing the PDCC Sport package, adding 4ws and torque vectoring.
The exterior has been restyled, improving (a little) on the unpleasant proportions of the 970, while the interior has received a quality makeover, and gains an extra rear seat (of sorts).
It does seem expensive at £120k. You do get a lot for your money, with Porsche's rock solid cachet and quality, but there are more desirable rivals offering this level of quality and even greater performance at this price point.
