Launched at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the second generation Virage sat part way between the DB9 and DBS in Aston Martin's GT line-up. All three models shared the same sonerous 6-litre V12, in the Virage's case pushing out a healthy 490 bhp, but returning a decidedly unhealthy 19 mpg.
While looking almost as sporty as the DBS with body skirts and spoilers, the ethos of the Virage was for comfort, hence the introduction of adaptive dampers. Despite this leaning towards luxury, carbon ceramic brakes are fitted as standard.
Interior kit is both generous and luxurious, and there is the option of specifying 2 seats rather than the useless 2+2 configuration.
Production of the Virage lasted just 18 months, whereafter Aston discontinued the model due it being too similar to the DB9. Despite it's good looks and relaxed power, the £150k 'old school' Virage lagged behind its rivals in the value for money stakes.
