The thrilling 1M Coupe was the pinnacle of BMW's 1 short lived 1-series, and one of their first M cars to use turbocharging. This gives the 3 litre flat six 335bhp, along with a decent 369 lbft of torque. Acceleration to 60mph takes under 5 seconds, while top speed is a restricted 155mph.
Handling is lively but fun, thanks to a short wheelbase, mechanical limited slip differential and perfect 50:50 weight distribution.
Production of the 1M spanned three years, until superceded by the M135i in 2013. New price was around £40k in the UK.
The relative rarity and old school manual thrills of the 1M have kept used values high compared to BMW's other M models of the period. Used cars are still trading at £50k, six years after production ceased!
