Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) have reintroduced a classic supercar to the market, in the form of the stunning Stratos.
The new Stratos started development way back in 2005, in partnership with legendary Italian design house Pininfarina, with the first running model arriving 5 years later. After another 8 years of frustrating delays, the full MAT developed road car arrived.
Based on the engine and (shortened) chassis of a Ferrari F430 Scuderia, the Stratos boasts a potent 542bhp from its 4.3 litre V8. Performance is raw and very driver focused, right down to the traditional gated manual gearbox.
The lightweight carbon fibre bodywork (the car weighs in at under 2750 lbs) coupled with a short wheelbase, provide race car levels of handling.
The rally car like exterior of the Stratos, is reflected in the spartan interior, although the car does come with (essential) air con.
A limited run of 25 will be produced, at a hefty 500,000 Euros PLUS the donor 430 Scuderia!
